Expansion and Harvest of MSCs in the PBS-Mini Vertical-Wheel Bioreactor

Introduction
This protocol details a scalable workflow for expanding and harvesting mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), beginning with 2D adherent cultures in T-flasks before transitioning to dynamic 3D suspension growth in PBS-Mini® bioreactors.
Patented Vertical-Wheel® (VW) technology provides optimal hydrodynamic conditions for expansion and harvest of adherent cells on surfaces of microcarriers, allowing the PBS-Mini to be a true scale-down model for larger VW bioreactors and unlocking robust and scalable manufacturing of therapeutic cell products such as MSCs.
