Innovative Vertical-Wheel™ Technology

Unique features include:
  • Vertically-orientated Wheel is departure from traditional, horizontal impeller designs
  • A long Wheel radius, peripheral paddles, and the rounded vessel bottom contribute to gentle, tangential fluid flow
  • Oppositely-oriented internal vanes contribute to the “cutting and folding” axial fluid flow pattern through center of Wheel
  • Wheel is enclosed inside vessel and rotates freely around a stationary shaft
  • End result is fast, efficient mixing with uniform particle suspension and dispersion

True Scalability

  • Consistent mixing performance with low shear stress, from 50 mL to 500 L working volumes, using the same Vertical-Wheel™ mixing mechanism
  • The result is true, predictable scalability: the same mixing parameters (e.g. volumetric power input) that work at 50 mL can be applied at 500 L to achieve a similar microenvironment
  • Vertical-Wheel technology facilitates cost effective, high-throughput screening at the representative benchtop level before scaling up to larger volumes for clinical and commercial manufacturing
