We have selected polyvinylidine flouride (PVDF) as our bag film material for its superior properties and performance in context of the demanding applications of the biotech industry. PVDF is a specialty plastic used in applications requiring the highest purity, strength, and resistance. It is a highly non-reactive and pure thermoplastic fluoropolymer that is chemically inert and superior in strength, resulting in ultra-low surface binding, minimal leachables and extractables, and enhanced durability. These features are not found in traditional single-use bioreactor bags and vessels.
To maintain strict quality control and lot traceability, all PBS Biotech single-use bags and vessels are built, integrated, and 100% tested in-house within our clean room facilities.

The entire line of single-use products, including the internal Vertical-Wheel™mixer, is packaged and then exposed to 25-40 kGy sterilization dosage by gamma radiation. The PBS MINI and PBS 3 units use a polycarbonate (PC) plastic vessel, while the PBS 15, PBS 80, and PBS 500 single use products consist of bags made of PVDF.
All single-use vessels and bags are designed to meet a wide range of applications and to provide maximum value and cell growth. Each product is hand-crafted with the user in mind, allowing for low profile storage, easy installation, and changing by a single operator. The user can unpack the vessel or bag and install the unit along with tubing, filters, and sampling manifolds in a matter of minutes.
PBS Biotech single use-bioreactors are designed to be compatible with all popular reusable and single-use pH and DO probes.
